‘Look Back in Pride’ – Call out to performers / volunteers / glamorous assistants / rich people!
For the 50th anniversary of the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality in the passing of the ‘Sexual Offences Act’ and the passing of the ‘Abortion Act’ – ‘Queer Tours of London – A Mince Through Time’ and our friends are organising a tribute night, swing dance and feast to the activists who made it happen.
It is on Saturday November 26th 2016 8pm – 277A Upper Street, Islington, London, N1 2TZ – Tickets to be launched by 21st October 2016.
This will be to pay tribute to the Women’s Liberation Movement and those behind the passing of 1967 Sexual Offences Act and the ongoing Gay Liberation Front. These are the LEGENDS who fought tooth and nail to legalise abortion and homosexuality in 1967 (now the 50th anniversary) – and this is our chance to celebrate who actually made it happen (rather than the Government who may try to take credit next year).
November 26th 2016 is going to be a night to remember! It will be a Ga(y)la to cherish them as the very important anniversary next year beckons.
There are very limited spaces and priority seats go to the activists of the 1960’s.
We are looking for 15 glamorous assistants, 10 short tribute acts and a raft of volunteers from the younger generation of feminists and queers to cook a feast for them. We also need a bit of cash so if you / an organisation you know are involved with could help out please get in touch!
Please email ASAP at firstname.lastname@example.org / details athttps://www.queertoursoflondon.com – Please share with everyone you think will appreciate!
